Lacock Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
Dear Lacock Parish Residents
You were brilliant, thank you!
The Lacock Lunar Lunch was attended by over 600 of us and what a happy day it was. You took part in a crown competition, children’s games, tug of war for young and old!
Mugs were presented to the children by Michelle Donelan and some lucky parishioners won fantastic raffle prizes.
We saw picnics on the grass, tables with candelabras and sharing of food and drink! This was followed by music, burgers and dancing – even in the rain!
Many of you came to see the proclamation of the beacon on Thursday 2nd when Patrick Holliday was resplendent in Town Crier Regalia (a heavy responsibility taking over from Leo). Lacock Covid19 Volunteers were thanked for their support to the community, alongside the businesses and individuals who had helped with the jubilee effort.
Thursday 2nd at 9.45pm saw the lighting of the Lacock Jubilee beacon – and what an amazing sight it was, being seen for miles. A big thank you to Peter Glen, instrumental in the Beacon building & planning. The Beacon was lit by people nominated by you – Janet Doel, Anthony Edwards, Helen Kobylec, Peter Self, Colin Lovelock, Peter Glen, Heather Shepherd, Chris Doel and Fergus Dunlop, accompanied by bagpiper Bob Hills and Chippenham Scout and Guide Buglers.
